COMMUNITY IMPACT INITIATIVES

ORANGE COUNTY UNITED WAY SPARKPOINT CENTER

In 2022, the Pacific Life Foundation made a $750,000 commitment over five-years to Orange County United Way in support of a new SparkPoint OC center at Kinoshita Elementary School in San Juan Capistrano, CA. As a part of the United for Financial Security Initiative, SparkPoint OC centers are a resource for low-income individuals and families working towards financial stability. Case managers at the SparkPoint OC centers work with families 1:1 for one year, and focus on increasing income, managing credit, and building assets. During the five-year partnership, this SparkPoint OC center will serve approximately 250 families. In addition to the Foundation’s financial support of the SparkPoint OC center, Pacific Life employees participate in SparkJoy each year, donating and wrapping gifts for the children of the families who are currently enrolled in the SparkPoint program.

Feeding America

The Feeding America network provided 6.6 billion meals in 2021. The Pacific Life Foundation pledge of $750,000 over the next five years will help source and distribute more wholesome food, especially produce, protein, and dairy; items that are donated much less frequently to food banks but are critical components of a balanced diet. The partnership will help ensure equitable access to fresh foods, and support Feeding America’s agri-sourcing strategy to nourish the community.
