The Pacific Life Foundation recently welcomed more than 170 nonprofit partners, community leaders, and grantees to its Newport Beach headquarters for its annual Grants Reception, an evening dedicated to celebrating the collective impact being made across Orange County.
The event highlighted the Foundation’s long-standing commitment to strengthening communities and advancing meaningful, lasting change. Since awarding its first grant in 1984, Pacific Life and the Pacific Life Foundation have contributed nearly $170 million to nonprofit organizations addressing critical needs.
Building on that legacy, the Foundation has announced its largest philanthropic investment to date: a $10 million charitable giving program for 2026. The commitment reflects Pacific Life’s purpose of providing Confidence for Generations and its ongoing focus on creating opportunity, expanding access to essential resources, and improving quality of life in the communities it serves.
The evening also spotlighted the impact of the Foundation’s strategic partnerships across key focus areas, including support for vulnerable seniors, access to nutrition, college and workforce readiness, and youth mental health initiatives in Orange County.
A highlight of the event was the presentation of the Walter B. Gerken Community Service Award to Pacific Marine Mammal Center. The award recognizes a nonprofit partner that demonstrates exceptional community impact and meaningful employee engagement.
A valued partner since 1994, Pacific Marine Mammal Center is the only organization in Orange County licensed to rescue and respond to injured marine mammals. Its mission closely aligns with Pacific Life’s ocean health focus area. The award includes a $100,000 unrestricted grant and permanent recognition at Pacific Life’s Newport Beach headquarters.
The evening concluded with a shared sense of gratitude and purpose, recognizing the critical role nonprofit partners play in building stronger, more resilient communities.
