Pacific Life Announces Officer Promotions

 

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. – March 23, 2021 – Pacific Life announced today the following officer promotions in recognition of their outstanding contribution to Pacific Life, effective April 1, 2021.

Kimberly Annon to Vice President, Actuarial (Insurance Risk), Life Insurance Division

Ms. Annon began her career with Pacific Life in 2017 as an assistant vice president in the Life Insurance Division where she managed the administration and actuarial teams of the reinsurance function, including: new business and in force treaty re-negotiation and management, captive management, and reinsurance pricing and strategy. As vice president, she will assume expanded responsibilities in building the division’s insurance risk management framework, defining insurance risk limits, and managing the insurance risk profile.

Mike Bell to Assistant Vice President, Investment Operations, Corporate Division

Beginning his career with Pacific Life in 2014 as an investment operations manager, Mr. Bell was promoted to director of investment management in 2016 where he was responsible for overseeing the day-to-day of the investment operations team covering fixed income and derivative trade support, reconciliations, and data management. As assistant vice president, Mr. Bell will also be responsible for providing investment operations support to the Institutional Division across a complex product set.

Spencer Jones to Assistant Vice President, Derivatives Trading, Corporate Division

Mr. Jones began his career with Pacific Life in 2019 as a derivatives trading director where he was responsible for assisting the head of derivatives with the execution and administration of all company hedge programs. As assistant vice president of derivatives trading, his primary responsibility will be for the execution and administration of the indexed universal life and fixed income annuity hedge programs while continuing to assist the head of derivatives in the overall administration of variable annuity programs.

Paul Liebrand to Assistant Vice President, Technology Transformation, Corporate Division

Joining Pacific Life in 2001 as a software engineer, Mr. Liebrand was promoted several times before assuming the role of director of business applications delivery in 2017 where he was responsible for overseeing the development of product delivery, delivery engineering, application development, and data management practices to establish standard practices and consistency across the Corporate Information Technology (CIT) department. As assistant vice president of technology transformation, Mr. Liebrand will expand his leadership role, guiding the CIT department as it builds agile, digital, and data-driven capabilities to ensure continued focus on desired business outcomes, delivery of measurable value, and speed-to-market solutions.

Russ Proctor to Assistant Vice President, Managing Director and Head of Pension Risk-Transfer, Institutional Division

Mr. Proctor began his career with Pacific Life in 2011 as a pension sales director in the Retirement Solutions Division. He was promoted several times before assuming the role of managing director of pensions for the Institutional Division in 2020. In this role, he has been responsible for overseeing the pension risk-transfer (PRT) sales team, providing leadership and project management for PRT. Mr. Proctor will continue his responsibilities as assistant vice president in overseeing the PRT sales function, as well as assuming responsibilities for the PRT operations function.

David Fine to Assistant Vice President, Strategy and Customer Experience, Life Insurance Division

Beginning his career with Pacific Life in 2012 as an information technology delivery manager, Mr. Fine was promoted several times before assuming the role of customer experience director in 2016. Leading the Life Insurance Division strategy function was added to his responsibilities in 2019. In this role, he has led the division’s strategy and customer experience teams with a focus on amplified business partnership and the creation new services, including experience design within customer experience and strategic intelligence within strategy. His promotion to assistant vice president recognizes his expanded responsibilities in leading these areas.

Sarah Weitzman to Assistant Vice President, Operations Business Solutions, Retirement Solutions Division

Ms. Weitzman joined Pacific Life in 2012 as a project manager in the project management office of the Retirement Solutions Division (RSD). In 2015 she was promoted to manager of the operations project team before assuming the role of director of operations for strategic initiatives in 2019. In this role, she has been responsible for overseeing a diverse range of operations shared services teams, working concurrently to implement all major initiatives impacting RSD operations, including project management, knowledge management, operations data analytics, and training. As assistant vice president, she will continue her responsibilities in overseeing the operations training team, as well as assuming responsibility for all transactional processing functions for RSD’s retail and structured settlement annuity business.
