Mr. Hance serves as senior vice president at Pacific Life, where he oversees the Customer Solutions Group for the Institutional business. He is responsible for leading the pension risk-transfer, stable value, and defined contribution lifetime income businesses, including pricing, data analytics, marketing, sales, operations, and strategy.

Prior to joining Pacific Life in March 2020, Mr. Hance served as the chief actuary of Equitable where he was responsible for all actuarial functions, including valuation, model development, assumptions, methodology, and actuarial transformation. Previously, Mr. Hance held a range of senior actuarial roles at Prudential, including leading their valuation center of excellence, GAAP & pricing oversight, and pension risk-transfer pricing.

Mr. Hance began his career at Transamerica as an actuarial student focused on retirement products, subsequently holding roles including the company’s enterprise business services chief actuary, employer solutions & pensions chief risk officer & chief actuary, and employer solutions & pensions head of modeling.
