schedule 3 MINUTES
Tell us about your career path and how you got to where you are today.

Back in 1997, I was working a “night shift” from 3 pm to 11 pm in the Operations department as a contractor. I became a full-time employee working regular hours and eventually became a lead Contract Admin Representative. Later I moved to the Technology department and accepted a position as a Quality Assurance Analyst, and today, I am a Quality Assurance Analysis Manger.

Tell us about your job responsibilities and what a typical day looks like for you.

I have a morning ritual that I practice every morning before I start my day, and I don’t skip a beat because it’s what gives me energy and a positive mindset.

My typical workday is full of meetings! I often collaborate with Technology teams and business partners to discuss capacity planning, prioritization, project scope, and automation opportunities. I also champion innovation and offer guidance and support to the team on our improvement initiatives, and work with them on self-development opportunities.

What are the biggest challenges of your role today?

Since we cannot control how time moves, and we can only manage ourselves within that time, the challenge is prioritizing what will bring our team the most value. Another challenge is providing thought leadership and support to ensure that we are steadfast in our goals, so that we are constantly improving and growing. It’s a balancing act to provide excellence in our service, supporting the needs of our application development teams and business partners while also being deliberate with our own goals.

How has Pacific Life supported your career growth and development?

One of our team’s key principles is “always be learning and always be sharing.” My leader embraces growth in learning and continually finds and welcomes learning opportunities for me. In fact, I always have at least one goal for the year that is focused on self-development.

What do you do when you’re not working?

I have a routine schedule outside of work as well. On the weekends, I love to spend time with my friends and family, and I am highly active outdoors, taking full advantage of our beautiful weather. I enjoy paddle boarding, spending time at the beach, and eating at some of my favorite restaurants (big time foodie). I also find peace and happiness at home, spending a lot of time organizing and re-decorating the house. I get a major sense of achievement organizing closets! It’s my thing.
