Pacific Life Foundation

Pacific Life and the Pacific Life Foundation have a strong tradition of giving back to their communities and creating positive societal change. Instead of trying to be all things to all people, the Foundation has committed over 30% of its annual contributions budget to focus on a few key issue areas. By focusing its resources, the Foundation will be able to make a significant impact within the selected key issue areas.

Healthy Oceans
A “Healthy Ocean” means that marine, coastal, and estuarine ecosystems, the watersheds that drain into these waters, the plant and animal communities therein, and the physical, chemical, and biological process involved are diverse and functioning, and the economies and people dependent on them are thriving. A healthy ocean provides aesthetic, cultural, and recreational values. It also supports the character and quality of life of coastal communities and a vibrant, sustainable economy… - from the Final Action Plan for the West Coast Governors’ Agreement on Ocean Health.

The Pacific Life Foundation has pledged up to $1,000,000 per year (2011 - 2015) to focus on our ocean's health.

Safety Net Organizations
A Safety Net is a critical component of the community because it serves uninsured and low-income individuals. The Pacific Life Foundation has committed up to $500,000 in funding to support this area in 2014.

Marine Mammals
The Pacific Life Foundation contributed $560,000 in 2013 to programs that promote marine mammal conservation, education, and research.
