Marine Mammals Education, Conservation, and Research Efforts Supported by the Pacific Life Foundation
The Pacific Life Foundation’s contribution to whale preservation, conservation of marine mammals, and improving the health of the oceans pre-dates our first national television commercial production featuring the humpback whales.

Major Focus Programs

Current Trends in Whale Research
In 2008, the Foundation funded a research project conducted by the Hildebrand Lab at Scripps Institute of Oceanography at the University of California, San Diego to assess current trends in Whale Research. Click the link above to access the report.
Southern California Marine Mammal Workshop
The 5th annual Southern California Marine Mammal Workshop was held on January 31 & February 1, 2014. It was organized by and for marine mammal researchers who work in the Southern California Bight region. The workshop was sponsored by the Pacific Life Foundation with an overall goal of providing an atmosphere conducive to introductions and discussions, and thus foster collaboration between researchers in the Southern California region.
