Pacific Life Foundation

Students who make the connection between their education and their future career are less likely to drop out of high school and are more likely to transition into fulfilling employment. Vital Link, a nonprofit established in 1989, helps 30,000 Orange County students annually make this important connection by providing guidance, hands-on programs, exhibits, curriculum, and experiential programs.

Through Vital Link's unique Career Exploration programs, the world of work and its potential career options are brought into the classroom to educate students in an interactive and dynamic way. Students have access to business professionals who serve as role models to further enhance the students' career search process. The programs also expose students to the standards and expectations of business, leading-edge technology, and global career opportunities, as well as provide an opportunity to visit a variety of settings, including laboratories, studios, corporations, and hospitals to observe professionals in action. In 2005, the Pacific Life Foundation provided its first of many financial contributions to Vital Link. In addition, Pacific Life employees volunteer (the Good Guys) at Vital Link's annual STEM and the Arts Career Showcase at the OC Youth Expo.
