Business History
Mr. Dieck serves as chief risk officer and senior vice president, Enterprise Risk Management. In his role, he is responsible for the risk management operations of the company, including continuing to integrate the risk framework into the organization, risk identification and mitigation, and overseeing the Corporate valuation and actuarial functions. Prior to his promotion to chief risk officer and senior vice president in November 2017, Mr. Dieck served as vice president, Enterprise Risk Management, where he was responsible for providing input into the development of strategies, policies, and procedures for monitoring, measuring and managing risks across the enterprise and was directly responsible for the oversight of economic capital and aggregate risk for the enterprise. He also assisted the chief risk officer in the management of the integrated risk management framework and provided quantitative and qualitative assessment of risks that may impact the organization.

Prior to joining Pacific Life, Mr. Dieck worked as an actuarial consultant for 15 years with firms that included Towers Watson, PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, and KPMG LLP, where he specialized in the areas of financial reporting of life insurers and mergers and acquisitions. He began his career at National Guardian Life Insurance Company, a mutual life insurer in Madison, Wisconsin.
