In 2012, the Pacific Life Foundation will provide $5.6 million in grants. So far, over $2 million in grants have been distributed to nearly 200 nonprofit agencies in Southern California and 30 nonprofit agencies in the Greater Omaha area. Health and Human Services
Funding supports programs for low-income or disadvantaged adults, youth, seniors, and families affected by health challenges, disabilities, domestic violence, substance abuse, homelessness, and other hardships.
Civic, Community, and Environment
Funding supports the protection and preservation of the environment, as well as community and civic programs that promote leadership training, civic responsibility, and diversity.
Education
Included in this category are programs at K-12 schools that focus on a wide variety of academic subjects, as well as after-school mentoring and tutoring programs offered by institutions of higher education, adult literacy programs, and industry education are funded, as well as matching gifts to higher education.
Arts and Culture
In this category, programs that offer culture and art through libraries, museums, zoos, and the performing arts are funded.
