In 2012, the Pacific Life Foundation will provide $5.6 million in grants. So far, over $2 million in grants have been distributed to nearly 200 nonprofit agencies in Southern California and 30 nonprofit agencies in the Greater Omaha area. Health and Human Services
Programs that improve the quality of life and health of those in need (e.g., homeless, senior citizens, youth, working poor, victims of domestic violence, and individuals with chronic diseases or specific unmet health needs) are funded in this category.
Civic, Community, and Environment
Funding supports the protection and preservation of the environment on land and in the ocean, as well as community and civic programs that promote leadership training, civic responsibility, and diversity.
Education
Grants in this category include programs such as after-school tutoring, K-12 science and math enrichment, and literacy education for youth and adults.
Arts and Culture
Funding in this category goes towards agencies that educate and inspire youth and adults through museum programs and artistic performances, as well as in-classroom educational projects in the areas of music and theater.
