Downloading Ringtones to the Computer

1. Ringtones are currently available in "mp3" format.

2. To download ringtones, option-click (Apple) or control-click (PC) the link that says "mp3". These ringtones are entirely free for your personal use and enjoyment!

Uploading Ringtones to Smartphones

1. Determine the type of cell phone that will receive the ringtone. Each separate cell phone manufacturer has specific instructions and cables for their brand or model.

2. Use a corresponding data cable from the manufacturer for connection between the phone and the computer.

3. Locate the cell phone software program from the manufacturer, and use the interface to select the tone or music desired. Save this file to a folder on the computer.

4. Connect the data cable to the USB port on the computer and plug the other end into the cell phone's data port. The cell phone's instruction manual will direct the user to this port.

5. Upload the new ringtone from the computer to the cell phone. The ringtone selection will be saved to the cell phone's ringtone folder automatically.

6. Find the ringtone selection in the cell phone's ringtone or sound folder, and choose it for becoming the default phone ring.

iPhone

1. Ringtones are currently available for Apple iPhone are in "m4r" format.

2. To download ringtones, option-click (Apple) or control-click (PC) the link that says "m4r". These ringtones are entirely free for your personal use and enjoyment!

Uploading Ringtones to iPhone

1. Once you have downloaded the ringtones you want, you must use iTunes. First open iTunes, and then drag 'n' drop the ringtones into the Library > Ringtones area.

2. Next, connect your iPhone to your computer in the usual manner with the cable provided. Depending on your settings, sync will either happen automatically, or when you hit the big "sync" button in the lower right corner of the main iTunes window.

3. Make sure in your settings for ringtones, "sync ringtones" is checked.

4. If sync is not automatic, hit the sync button on the lower right corner of the iTunes window. Ringtones should upload to iPhone!

5. When sync is complete and it is ok to disconnect the iPhone, disconnect.

6. From your iPhone, choose your new ringtone by selecting Settings > Sounds > Ringtone, then tapping the one you want, which should play the sound and 'check it' for becoming the default phone ring.
