Business History Mr. Haskell served in Washington, D.C. as a legislative assistant for Congressman Donald W. Riegle, Jr. in 1975-1976, then as an ombudsman, from 1976 to 1978, for the U.S. Commission on Federal Paperwork, Office of Advocacy. He served as executive director of the League of California Cities, Orange County Division, from 1978 to 1983. In December, 1983 he joined Pacific Life as director of the Office of Corporate Responsibility.
Mr. Haskell was promoted to assistant vice president and director of Corporate and Public Affairs in 1986, and was elected second vice president and director of Corporate and Public Affairs in 1988. In 1990, he was elected vice president, Corporate and Public Affairs. Mr. Haskell was elected senior vice president, Public Affairs in 1995.
Mr. Haskell manages the Public Affairs Department, covering the areas of corporate brand management, community relations, charitable giving, public/media relations, corporate advertising, company trademarks, and corporate Internet. He serves as a member of the Pacific Life Management Committee.
