Founded in 1937 by Thomas Rowe Price, Jr., the Baltimore-based investment management firm is one of the nation’s leading providers of no-load mutual funds for individual investors and corporate retirement programs.
Investment Philosophy
The framework of the company’s success was established over 60 years ago by Thomas Rowe Price, Jr., who pioneered the methodology of growth investing by focusing on well-managed companies in fertile fields whose earnings and dividends were expected to grow faster than inflation and the overall economy. Identifying such companies required rigorous, hands-on research and so the company has been committed to fundamental research and analysis from its earliest days. At the time, many growth companies were small and relatively unknown, so the company also became a pioneer in small stock investing. That tradition continues today as T. Rowe Price is recognized as being one of the leading managers of small and mid-cap stocks in the industry and offers a strong, diverse lineup of funds covering virtually all the investment bases.
