NFJ Investment Group LLC (NFJ) provides advisory services to mutual funds and institutional accounts. NFJ Investment Group, Inc., the predecessor to NFJ, commenced operations in 1989. NFJ is an indirect subsidiary of Allianz Global Investors of America LP (AGI LP). Allianz SE is the indirect majority owner of AGI LP. Allianz SE is a European-based, multinational insurance and financial services holding company.
Investment Philosophy
NFJ Investment Group is a highly disciplined, value manager specializing in a diversified, low P/E and dividend approach, that selects stocks on a bottom-up basis. Their philosophy is solidly based on research, which has shown that portfolios of low P/E, dividend-paying stocks have substantially outperformed market indices over extended periods. NFJ focuses on dividends, discipline and diversification.
Investment Process
- Screen approximately 4,500 stocks to identify companies with positive fundamental characteristics
- Apply proprietary and quantitative modeling as well as in-depth research and analysis
- Avoid over-exposure to any one sector by restricting the number of stocks held in a single industry
- Select a diversified value portfolio of approximately 100-110 stocks
- Disciplined proactive portfolio management to identify new buy and sell candidates
