Pacific Life Insurance Company Honored for Contributions to Secure the Financial Stability of Orange County Families

Newport Beach, CA June 19, 2007 – Pacific Life Insurance Company was honored with a Community Cornerstone Award for their outstanding charitable contributions at Orange County United Way’s annual Campaign Celebration on June 19, 2007 at the Balboa Pavilion on the Newport Peninsula.

Pacific Life raised more than $450,000 during its 2006/2007 United Way workplace campaign and the company’s foundation gave a corporate gift of more than $220,000 to Orange County United Way’s Community Impact Agenda to support programs and partnerships in Orange County that help families meet their basic needs and provide long-term solutions to move them to lead financially stable lives. Pacific Life is also very active in the community with its volunteer program, “The Good Guys” where employees partner throughout Orange County to serve meals to the hungry, participate in fundraising events for various organizations, coordinate toy drives and much more.

“Our employees and our company are committed to supporting people in Orange County by donating as much as we can to United Way’s Community Impact Agenda,” said Bob Haskell, Pacific Life’s senior vice president of public affairs.

“The team at Pacific Life Insurance Company takes their work of securing the futures of so many families to the next level,” said Maria Chavez Wilcox, President and CEO of Orange County United Way. “Their contributions to Orange County United Way support many valuable programs that help family’s lead financially secure lives,” added Wilcox.

Pacific Life Insurance Company was also the recipient of a Golden Key award which recognizes companies that raise the most dollars for Orange County United Way.

More than 1,100 local companies representing over 267,000 employees ran workplace campaigns supporting Orange County United Way’s Community Impact Agenda to support programs and partnerships in Orange County that help families meet their basic needs and provide long-term solutions to move them to lead financially stable lives. At the June 19th Celebration luncheon, more than 40 awards were distributed to Orange County United Way’s corporate partners in various categories recognizing financial contributions, volunteer activities and more. Major sponsors of the lunch event included Alcon Laboratories, Enterprise Rent-A-Car, Fluor and Grant Thornton.
