Newport Beach, Calif. (April 16, 2008) – At an early evening reception on Tuesday, Pacific Life Insurance Company celebrated the completion of its nine-story, 246,806-square-foot office building on the San Joaquin Hills Transportation corridor toll road in Aliso Viejo.  Located at 45 Enterprise, the building is occupied by approximately 1,000 employees and serves as the headquarters for Pacific Life’s Life Insurance Division.  In attendance at the reception were Pacific Life’s senior management, city officials, local business leaders, and the dedicated craftsmen and women who participated in the design and construction of the building.

“In terms of employees, the Life Insurance Division is our largest and for the first time in 10 years, all of the California Life Insurance Division employees are in one building,” said Jim Morris, president and CEO of Pacific Life.  “The consolidation into one building gives Pacific Life the opportunity to serve our customers more efficiently.  In addition, our employees have a state-of-the-art building to work in and are able to enjoy the numerous amenities offered by the City of Aliso Viejo.”

The building was designed by Ware Malcomb Architects, Parker Properties acted as the project’s development manager, and Snyder Langston acted as the project’s general contractor.  The project team completed construction of the building during the course of just over one year.  Special consideration was given for landscaping that would complement the features of the building, while still highlighting Pacific Life’s corporate identity.  Various pieces of artwork were included in the design of the building, including an 18-foot, 2-ton bronze sculpture which depicts a mother humpback whale and her calf.  Created by noted artist Randy Puckett, The Pacific Promise is situated on a fountain in the courtyard of the building and can be enjoyed by all of the residents in Aliso Viejo and visitors to Summit Office Park.
