Variable Life Insurance Clients Can Choose
from More than 60 Investment Options

Newport Beach, Calif. (October 16, 2007) – Diversify. Diversify. Diversify. Clients with variable life insurance policies may hear this all the time but how do they achieve it? One way is through lifecycle portfolios, asset allocation strategies that automatically adjust over time. Pacific Life Insurance Company and Pacific Life & Annuity Company recently added the Fidelity VIP (Variable Insurance Portfolio) Freedom Income portfolio and five Fidelity VIP lifecycle portfolios to the investment options available through their variable universal life insurance products.

Pacific Life and Pacific Life & Annuity policyowners can now choose from more than 60 investment options including 11 lifecycle portfolios to help diversify the net premiums and cash value in their variable universal life insurance policies. Alyce Peterson, vice president of marketing services for the Life Insurance Division of Pacific Life explained that lifecycle portfolios appeal to clients who want a more “turn-key” approach to diversifying because each portfolio has a determined asset allocation1 mix that is automatically rebalanced and readjusted by the portfolio manager.

“Lifecyle portfolios offer the unique benefit of automatic rebalancing and adjustments to clients who want an easier way to diversify their policies’ cash value,” Peterson continued. “We believe in offering choices to our variable universal life policyowners so we continually expand and refine our roster of investment options and services.”

To help clients better understand how lifecycle portfolios can be used, Pacific Life and Pacific Life & Annuity recently published Lifecycle Portfolios for Variable Universal Life Insurance. This easy-to-use guide explains lifecycle portfolios and gives side-by-side comparisons of the 11 lifecycle portfolios available through their variable life insurance policies.
