Far, Wide and Diversified: New Guide Helps Clients Create Balanced Investment Strategies in Pacific Life and Pacific Life & Annuity VUL Products
Clients Can Now Choose from 56 Investment Options

Newport Beach, CA. (May 1, 2007) – To help policyowners better understand and manage the investment choices within their variable universal life insurance policies, Pacific Life Insurance Company and Pacific Life & Annuity Company recently published an easy-to-use consumer guide that highlights the importance of a balanced portfolio and how to create one. The “Far, Wide and Diversified” guide describes the 56 investment options now available with companies’ variable life insurance products and the variety of value-added services that support a policyowner’s overall investment strategy.

The Far, Wide and Diversified approach includes:

  • Far: A range of services for a systematic buy/sell discipline, featuring automatic rebalancing and a first year transfer program.
  • Wide: 56 variable investment options from some of the top money managers.
  • Diversified: A choice of asset allocation strategies including five asset allocation models, how to blend asset allocation models with individual investment options and target date funds, also known as lifecycle funds.

“Choosing the proper investment strategy can seem overwhelming to many policyowners,” commented Alyce Peterson, vice president of marketing services for Pacific Life’s Life Insurance Division. “Each client’s needs and financial objectives are unique. Far, Wide and Diversified can help clarify how to choose investment options that can help them meet their goals.”

The guide also includes an overview of 15 new portfolios managed by Janus, Lazard, Legg Mason, MFS, Oppenheimer and XTF Advisors. According to Peterson, these new additions provide opportunities for additional exposure to small cap, mid cap and international asset classes available under the variable investment options. Policyowners can also select from six target date portfolios.
