Business History
Ms. Gates’ career began as an elementary school teacher, followed by 7 years of employee training and human resources responsibilities for Cedar Point.  After Cedar Point, Ms. Gates served as a manager for Presidential Life from 1980 to 1986.

Ms. Gates joined Pacific Life in 1987 as a senior applications analyst in policy benefits and services.  She worked her way through various management positions until she became an officer in 1992.  As assistant vice president, she had responsibility for the Customer Service, New Business, and Training departments.  Ms. Gates was promoted to vice president in 2004 and to senior vice president in 2006.  In her current position with the Life Insurance Division, she directs multiple operations departments that provide service to producers and policyholders, including Client Services, New Business Services, Risk Selection, Support Services and Training.
