Marine Mammals Education, Conservation, and Research Efforts Supported by the Pacific Life Foundation

The Pacific Life Foundation’s contribution to whale preservation, conservation of marine mammals, and improving the health of the oceans pre-dates our first national television commercial production featuring the humpback whales.

Agencies Funded
Since 1997, the Pacific Life Foundation has contributed more than $3.9 million to a significant number of nonprofit organizations whose collective mission is to improve our marine environment. Click the link above to see a list of agencies that we either currently fund, or have funded in the past.

Major Focus Programs
In addition, the Pacific Life Foundation dedicates 10% of its charitable giving annually ($550,000 in 2009) to programs that promote marine mammal conservation, education, and research.  Click the link above to see some examples of our major funding in these areas.
Current Trends in Whale Research
In 2008, the Foundation funded a research project conducted by the Hildebrand Lab at Scripps Institude of Oceanography at the University of California, San Diego to assess current trends in Whale Research. Click the link above to access the report.
